As it is with binoculars, so it is with scopes. Binoculars allow excellent moon views, and great viewing of star fields, comets and even deep sky objects.
As an experienced wildlife photographer my top priority was optical quality, and I did alot of research before deciding on this pair. Those who have little room to stow prefer a monocular over a binocular. If you go over 10x, you should consider getting a tripod.
There are giant binoculars available with higher magnifications and apertures which are designed for astronomy use but you will certainly need a sturdy tripod or mount to use them. So the Bashability factor is also important to look at when purchasing binoculars. Magnification over ten generally causes the binoculars to lose some image crispness.
Quality night binoculars have an infrared illuminator which increases the available infrared light. A tripod may be a good thing to have if you re using binoculars with high magnification. They can be extended or retracted as needed.
Use this information and you ll get it right the first time. But if you're into astronomy, you'll need a high powered pair.
